I know a lot of DMs really dislike this spell, but I think that it can actually be fun at the table when all the information needed is easier to access. So I hope some of you find this useful to help run your games smoother. ![]() These are not usually attacks, but sometimes affect how they fight or what the PC might want to order the creatures to do. You can find notes on some of the creatures to the right of the table. Make sure your 8 creatures are the right size! The table has size so close to the front because I find it easy to gloss over in the middle of combat. If you pick the creatures based on the environment, that can be found next to size. 24 creatures means it doesn't fit into the d100 perfectly, so Elk, Wolf, Boar and Giant Badger got an extra percent. My group rolls for Conjure Animals, so there is a d100 roll for creatures on the left. Mob rules make this spell much easier to work out, so I provided a mob attacking reference at the bottom. I will probably add at least CR 1/2 in the future because I know a lot of tables outright ban the CR 1/4 option, but let me know if this would be something you all are interested in! All told, Circle of the Shepherd adds a lot of capability as a Controller, Healer, and Support caster. If you enjoy summoning creatures and buffing your allies, this is a great option. In this early edition, it only has CR 1/4 beasts because I found that those are the most commonly summoned. Circle of the Shepherd offers excellent options for the Druid to support their party and to summon more powerful creatures with Conjure Animals and Conjure Fey. Here is the link to my Conjure Animals Cheat Sheet which I hope will help all DM's make sure that this early summoning spell doesn't fall flat at the table. I thought there must be a better way to do this, but couldn't find anything online that helped smooth this logistical bump. I found that whenever I cast that spell, combat screeched to a halt while my DM had to pull up new tabs, open up books, and roll dice for all these new creatures on the battle field. Hi all! So I've been running a bard with conjure animals on my spell list for the past few months.
